Bai Tu Long Bay – A charmed pristine beauty
Located in the Gulf of Tonkin, in the Northeast of Vietnam, Bai Tu Long Bay includes a part of Halong City’s sea area, Cam Pha town and Van Don Island district. The name of bay according to the local legend was told that “From the olden, when ancient Vietnam was encroached by aggressors. God sent Mother Dragon and her Child Dragons went down to helped the Vietnamese fighted the enemy. When the enemy boats reached the shore from the sea, the dragons sprayed out pearls, which then turned into thousands of stone islands in the sea, creating a solid wall to blocked the attack of enemy ships. Location where Mother Dragon landed was Halong Bay, Child Dragons down as Bai Tu Long Bay”. Bai Tu Long means “the place where the child dragons descended”.
