Halong Bay (Quang Ninh province) has an area of 1,553 km2 with nearly 2,000 islands, of which the UNESCO World Heritage Site area is over 434 square kilometers. On the bay, there are many islands, caves, beaches and abundant flora and fauna that create a fabulous natural painting.
Recently, the movie “Kong: Skull Island” – a blockbuster movie from Hollywood, with beautiful scenes in Quang Ninh Province and other Vietnamese locations, is attracting the attention of many people around the world. The two sites in Quang Ninh that appeared in the movie are Halong Bay and Cong La.
Halong Bay is like an enormous watercolor painting with thousands of rocky islands. The beauty of the bay is almost preserved intact and unaffected by humans. “When we came to Vietnam to choose the setting for the movie, we found that this place was so surprising and surreally beautiful. It is incredible and very different from what we knew before. There are beautiful scenes that we did not think were possible to find”, said Jordan Vogt-Robert, Director of the movie.

Cong La – Ba Hang area is about 30 km from Tuan Chau and about 20 km from Hon Gai Wharf. This area is near Cat Ba Island, off Hai Phong. Cong La has two beautiful lakes and is surrounded by mountains. To reach one of the lakes, you must climb the mountain while the other is accessed by rowing a boat or canoe through three caves, hence its name Ba Hang (Three Caves).
